On November 4, 2020, SAIC Volkswagen held grand "unboxing" ceremonies for the ID.4 X at three locations: Zhuhai Riyue Bay, Shanghai Universal Port, and Beijing World Trade Center Skywalk. On January 21, 2021, the all-electric SUV ID.4 X from SAIC Volkswagen officially began pre-sales, with the price after subsidies ranging from 199,888 yuan to 272,888 yuan. On March 25, 2021, SAIC Volkswagen held a spotlight party for the ID.4 X at the Shanghai Bund International E-Sports Culture Center, marking the official launch and delivery of the first domestic MEB platform electric vehicle, the ID.4 X.
